Some of our seniors have been taking a basic sewing class—learning how to thread the sewing machine, practicing straight and zigzag stitches, laying out a pattern, cutting a pattern, and sewing together all the pieces to make an apron. With their aprons finished, and the class will be moving on to making a shoe organizer.
At Senior Centers Inc., we celebrated the 4th of July with a cookout. Participants enjoyed chicken, hamburgers, and bratwurst, along with numerous delicious salads, watermelon, two different fruit pies, and lemonade. Holiday-themed games included beanbag toss, corn hole, ring toss, face painting, and a patriotic photo booth.
